Therapy for Children
Children can suffer from a range of
worrying problems such as nail-biting, blushing, hair pulling,
bed-wetting, school phobia, coprophobia (fear of going to
the toilet), eating disorders and sleep problems (see list
below).
Hypnotherapy, however, can be just as helpful
for younger members of the family as well as adults, reducing
stress and anxiety and building confidence and self-esteem
instead.
The Blowaway Technique is a gentle, relaxing
form of therapy which usually lasts one or two sessions and
has been specially designed to help children release their
anxieties in a totally secure and safe way.
Hypnosis works very well with kids and
they're usually keen to join in and give it a go. While they're
relaxed they will be encouraged to let any bottled-up emotions
or negative feelings come to the surface of their mind before
taking a deep breath and blowing them away.
The session will also include positive
suggestions for building confidence and, if the child is over
11, usually a chat about their mind works and how they can
manage their thinking to help themselves.
The
result is a happier child who can get back to the important
business of growing up.
Children between the ages of 7-17 can be
treated. Any child under the age of 16 must be accompanied
by a parent or guardian who is free to to join in the session
too.
